How does "wet bonding" work?
Wet splicing makes larger films easier to install. However, this only works if the foil does not have a transfer foil, because the liquid would not dry out properly under this film.
What do I have to consider?
1. that the temperature is around 20 degrees so that the liquid dries
2. that the film has to dry for approx. 48h at a constant warm temperature
3. the substrate must tolerate the liquid and moisture!
How is it done?
First mix 2-3 drops of detergent with 1 litre of water in a spray bottle. Then spray the liquids onto the surface to be covered AND the adhesive side of the foil.
The foil and the substrate are now prepared and can be applied. Thanks to the liquid, the position of the film can be adjusted more easily and moved or removed again more easily. After adjustment, the liquid must be spread out with a squeegee from the middle to the outside.
Important: The complete adhesive force is only given when the liquid has completely dried out.
